FROM BOHEMIAN BUDS TO FLEURS BOHEME

It all started when...

Bohemian Buds was established in 2015, growing from TAFE qualifications and freelancing for renowned industry names, to market stalls, multiple locations, and ultimately to our home in the Kenthurst studio we operate from today. After moving from Glebe to Kenthurst for love, Jess found herself sandwiched between flower farms growing everything from Dahlias, roses and poppies to every kind of foliage you can think of. As the business evolved, so too did its direction. After thoughtful reflection, the rebrand to Fleurs Bohème became a natural next step - one deeply connected to Jess’s cultural heritage. Her father is a horticulturalist from Châlons-en-Champagne in the south of France. Jess grew up surrounded by lush gardens, cutting flowers by hand and developing an early appreciation for seasonal beauty. Fleurs Bohème brings these influences together - blending the bohemian, organic nature of our designs with a love of Australian flora and our French roots - while reflecting the direction of the brand today: elevated, intentional florals for those drawn to subtle luxury and modern, refined design.

ECO CONSCIOUS

Sustainability focus in everything we do, every day…

We are passionate about our beautiful natural industry. Trust us, we don’t do it for the pay check. While it’s a lot of hard work, we wouldn’t choose another job in the world. But our industry creates so much waste through the supply chain. We do everything in our power to remain sustainable. Here’s a few of our initiatives, and we’re always looking for more suggestions:

  • Our designs feature an abundance of Australian native flora, locally grown blooms, and multiple feature foliages carefully wrapped in recycled wet packs and 100% post consumer recycled card paper.

  • We have been proudly oasis green flower foam free since 2019. This foam is not biodegradable and is carcenogenic.

  • All offcuts are kept in our “wishes box” and shorties vases to be onsold or gifted.

  • At market and at farms, we request no plastic wrap on our blooms. When inevitable, we have seperate bins for plastic wrap which are taken to red-cycle.

  • All our wedding bouquets are delivered in recycled boxes with recycled packaging.

  • Left over wedding blooms are donated to local nursing homes and daycares, neighbours of the studio, and hung out to dry to be reused in our everlasting arrangements.

  • We avoid noxious weeds, using faux and preserved options when required.

  • We avoid order gatherers, always sending our orders directly to florists in other areas. This guarantees you get the most blooms for your bucks.

  • We will always choose locally grown over imported. Not only to reduce our carbon footprint associated with flying flowers in from all over the world, but also due to the unregulated chemicals and labour conditions involved in farming overseas.

  • Sometimes we are limited in what we can achieve. Clients often need imported blooms with a longer shelf life, or that exact rose to match their colour palette. When this happens, we propose sustainable alternatives, and if not possible, we up the ante in our other sustainable initiatives even more.

  • Our gift range are mostly made by local women led small businesses.
